Megan Owens was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, spent her childhood in Washington, DC, and has spent the last 15 years living in California. In September 2013, she was ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ, and she has been serving churches in Southern California since then. 

Megan has spent the last four years on the Southern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ’s Annual Gathering Planning Team. She served as Vice Moderator and Moderator during this time, spearheading the transition to a virtual Webinar when it became necessary.

Megan is a theater and music enthusiast who uses these mediums to explore the intersections of creativity, theology, and spirituality. As a pastor and Gospel follower, Megan seeks to weave the stories of scripture and God’s presence with contemporary stories of liberation, justice, and resurrection.

Hiking, camping, walking, and traveling are among her favorite pastimes. She has traveled extensively and is fascinated by other cultures and places. She is happily married to Jeff O’Brien, and they have three adorable fur children. Megan is thrilled to be a part of Pilgrim UCC Redding’s ministry journey.
